For residential contractors

Text the change order.
Get it signed.
Get paid.

You already text your clients about extra work. ChangeNod turns that text into a signed approval and an invoice they pay online. No app to learn. No paperwork at the kitchen table.

Works from any phone that can text. Your clients never download anything.

Example: your phone
  1. You: Added upper cabinet run and relocated two outlets, johnson kitchen, 1285
  2. ChangeNod: ChangeNod: "Added upper cabinet run and relocated two outlets" — $1,285 on Johnson Kitchen Remodel (Upper cabinet run $985, 2 x Relocated outlet @ $150). Reply YES to send to Sarah Johnson for approval, EDIT <changes>, or NO to cancel.
  3. You: YES
  4. ChangeNod: ChangeNod: ✅ Sarah Johnson approved $1,285. Creating the invoice now.

The extras you never wrote down are the ones you never got paid for.

Your client asks for one more outlet while you are on the ladder. You say sure. Three weeks later the final invoice has a number they do not remember agreeing to, and now you are either eating it or arguing about it.

Every job has a few of those. Some get billed from memory, some get rounded down to keep the peace, and some never make it onto an invoice at all, because writing a change order in the truck at 6 p.m. is the last thing anyone wants to do.

ChangeNod gets the yes in writing at the moment it happens, from the phone in your pocket, in the time it takes to send a text.

How it works

Three steps. You do the first one. Your client does the second. Stripe and ChangeNod do the third.

  1. 1

    Text it

Text what you did and the price to your ChangeNod number, the way you would text anyone. Add a photo if you want. ChangeNod reads it, matches it to the job, and texts you back what it understood. Nothing goes to your client until you reply YES.

  2. 2

    Your client approves by text

They get a link. It shows your business name, the work, each line and its price. They type their name and tap approve, and that approval, with the date and time, is kept with the job. They can decline instead, and you hear about it either way.

  3. 3

    Get paid

The moment they approve, an invoice goes out from your own Stripe account with a link to pay. Reminders follow while it is open. The money goes straight to you. ChangeNod never holds it.

What you get

Everything below is in the product today. Nothing here is a roadmap.

  • Nothing to install, nothing to learn

ChangeNod lives in the texting app already on your phone. If you can text, you can use it. The dashboard is there when you want to look, never something you have to run.

  • You stay in control

Every change order waits for your YES before your client sees it. If ChangeNod is not sure which job you mean, it asks instead of guessing. Reply EDIT to fix anything, NO to cancel.

  • A signed record for every extra

The name your client typed, the exact statement they agreed to, the amount, the date and time. The kind of record that ends an argument before it starts.

  • A photo says it better

Attach a photo to your text and it shows on the approval page, so your client sees what you saw.

  • Invoices from your own Stripe account

Your money, your Stripe account, your payout schedule. ChangeNod connects to the account you already have, or helps you open one, and never touches a dollar of it.

  • Reminders that do the chasing

A friendly reminder while an approval is waiting, and again while an invoice is open, on a schedule you can change. Pause them for one client with a text, or send one by hand.

  • A running ledger your client can open any time

One link that shows every approved change and every payment on the project. Fewer "what is this charge?" calls.

  • Texts at decent hours

Messages to your clients go out between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in your time zone. Anything that comes up later waits for morning.

  • Your Monday money text

One text every Monday morning: what was approved, what is still unpaid, what reminders are going out this week.

What your clients see

Your clients do not sign up for anything. You enter their name and mobile number when you set up the job. The first text they get tells them who is texting, what about, and how to stop. After that, every text is about their own project: a change to approve, an invoice to pay, a reminder if one is still waiting.

  • The approval page shows your business name, the work, each line and its price.
  • They approve by typing their name, or decline with a reason. You hear either way.
  • They pay on a page hosted by Stripe. ChangeNod never sees their card.
  • Reply STOP ends the texts at any time; HELP gets them support.

Built to be trusted with the paperwork

Two human gates, always

ChangeNod proposes; people decide. You confirm before your client sees a change, and your client approves before an invoice exists. Nothing is billed on a guess.

Your money never passes through us

Invoices are raised on your own Stripe account and paid there. ChangeNod has no account that holds client funds, by design.

Plain rules on your data

The privacy policy says exactly what is collected, who receives it and how long it is kept, in plain English, and the SMS terms say exactly what gets texted.

Questions contractors ask

Do I need to install anything?

No. You text a ChangeNod number from the phone you already have. There is a dashboard on the web for reviewing jobs, clients and money, but you never need it to get a change order approved.

What does my client need?

A phone that can receive a text. No app, no account, no password. They tap the link, read the change, type their name and approve. They can also decline, with or without a reason.

Is a text-message approval a real signature?

ChangeNod records the things electronic-signature laws look for: that your client agreed to sign electronically, the exact statement they agreed to, the name they typed, the date and time, and the connection it came from, and it keeps that record with the change order. Whether a given approval holds up in a dispute depends on your contract and your state; ChangeNod is software, not a law firm.

How do I get paid?

Invoices are issued on your own Stripe account and your client pays on a page hosted by Stripe. The money goes from your client to you. ChangeNod never holds, routes or touches funds.

What if my client does not want texts?

They reply STOP and ChangeNod stops texting them. You are told right away, and you can give them the approval link or invoice link another way, or handle the change on paper.

Does it do estimates, scheduling or job costing?

No, on purpose. ChangeNod does one thing: the extra work that comes up mid-job gets written down, approved and billed. It works alongside whatever you use for the rest.

What does it cost?

Early-access contractors get pricing directly from us before anything is published. Join the list and we will walk you through it.

Who is behind ChangeNod?
